Meet Frankie – our new Apprentice Accountant.
We asked Frankie some questions to get to know her better.
What is your role at ETS?
My role at ETS is admin so, ensuring paperwork is filed in the correct area and keeping up to date with invoices.
What’s the most exciting part about your job?
The most exciting part about my job is each day never being the same. Talking to different people, completing different work, learning new things.
What are three words to best describe your experience so far?
Three words to describe my experience at ETS so far are interesting, enjoyable, and rewarding.
What is your team like?
My team is amazing. They make work very enjoyable as they are fun but also helpful and are always willing to answer my questions.
What are your goals for the next few months/years?
My goals for the next few months are just to concentrate on college so I can hopefully pass year 1. In the next few years, my goals are to become a fully trained account and become a valued asset to my team.
What’s the one thing that surprised you about your current role?
One thing that surprised me when I started my current role was how much I enjoyed working here and how I had never opened my mind into what opportunities were out there before I started college.
Who are some of your major influences at work?
My major influences at work are the staff I work alongside in the office, especially Mark and Sadie who have brought me into helping with the admin element of bigger contracts, pushing me to gain more experience/confidence.
What advice would you give to people wanting to start an apprenticeship?
Advice I would give people wanting to start an apprenticeship is that I think they’re the updated way of getting qualifications as you’re gaining valuable experience on the job and that certain environment.
What made you want to start an apprenticeship in accounting?
The thing that made me want to start an accounting apprenticeship was the fact that I wanted to gain practical experience in an office environment that you wouldn’t get from a full-time college course. I am able to gain valuable experience and acquire skills that employers require.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When I am not at work, I like to spend time with my friends and with my horse.
What three words best describe you?
Three words that best describe me are organised, enthusiastic and creative
What is the one thing you could not live without?
One thing I couldn’t live without is crocs.
Where is your favourite place to be?
My favourite place to be is with my horse.
